Presented in a preview exhibition at the 3D Jamboree in Japan, Futaba reveals a little more what will certainly be the successor to the GY520 gyro. Size slightly larger than a GY520 or GY611, it incorporates the technology S-BUS and allows use Futaba servos in 760 μs to the contrary GY611. The LCD module setting him also been revised and now offers an integrated fashion governorates.
This demonstrates both Spektrum and Futaba 2.4 spread spectrum systems work well in low voltage situations… it also shows Spektrum have the edge in terms of re-connection time after a brown-out or voltage drop
Just a warning, if you’re considering purchasing a GY401 on the cheap via the grey market, keep your eye out for fake versions. These fakes are pretty good in terms of their visual appearance…I wonder how long it will be before they start copying other products at this level?
The left 401 logo is genuine and the right is the counterfeit version, note the differences with the “G” and the “1″.
The main visual difference for the gyro is the plugs, the left is genuine and uses gold pins. The right is the counterfeit version uses silver pins on the plugs.
Again the plug pins are gold on the genuine (left) and on the fake they are silver (right). Also the rubber boot that goes around the serveo cable by the housing is longer on th genuine (left) and shorter on the fake (right)
